Most of my work is focused on photographing people Most of my work is focused on photographing people, from sports portraits and street photography to various events and situations where people are the main subject. But this is my first attempt at studio portrait photography, shot in an improvised corner that was turned into a small studio during a Canon photo shoot, basically, a controlled environment with two lights. For anyone who has ever wondered whether producing photos like this is easy or difficult, here’s my answer: this is probably the easiest type of photography I have ever done. The model is perfect. Every time she moves, the pose works. The camera settings stay consistent, the lighting setup stays consistent, and you have complete control over the environment. You can experiment with the power of the lights, change their angles, and position them to get exactly the kind of shadows you want on the face. But once everything is set up, it’s basically just: click, click, click. Compared to sports, street, or event photography, where the light, subject, background, and moment are constantly changing, a controlled studio setup like this is incredibly predictable. Of course, that doesn’t devalue the work that goes into it. You still need to know your lighting, understand your camera settings, work with a model, and have the right equipment. And, of course, owning and knowing how to use good gear.
